I first brought my car here after another mechanic shop did a cursory inspection of my car and determined that a loud and distressing sound in the wheels would cost $1,500 to correct. The crew at Foreign Auto Services did a test drive and thorough inspection: a mere $450 later, my car was like new! In subsequent service visits, FAS would patiently itemize and explain any deficiencies with the vehicle: with thoughtful sensitivity to both my family’s safety and my budget, they helpfully advised which items were more urgent, which could wait for x time/miles, and things to keep in mind to stay safe and ensure my vehicle’s healthy life. The owner is super-friendly, honest, knowledgeable, and engages with you in a way that says he genuinely cares about you, your car, and your finances. The staff are accommodating and work to serve you on your schedule. If you have an urgent need, they’ll find a way to get you in...and no nickel and diming to check out your car. There is also never any “upsell” pressure, and you aren’t made to feel silly when that obnoxious noise your car makes everyday decides not to show up on inspection day (they’ll ferret out the source, though!) As a divorced working mom with limited resources, having such a trusted mechanic makes a tremendous difference in my peace of mind and my pocketbook.
