Service was decent enough, albeit slow, and I recently developed a leak from the oil drain plug gasket after a previous oil change here. Biggest issue is the hostility toward customers using Groupons. On my most recent visit I was told by their service writer Emad not to come back because I’ve used 3 of their oil change Groupons and have declined their other recommended services. When I come in for an oil change and I'm waiting, it means I didn't have the flexibility to drop off and I don't have the flexibility to wait around another couple (or more) hours. I also like to double-check diagnosis and prices with a second shop before proceeding with any services. If that makes me unwelcome, so be it. If your intent is for your Groupon to be a single use introductory offer, then make that your policy on Groupon. Don’t set a limit of 3 per customer then browbeat a customer for actually using the offer you provided. But don’t worry, after the way Emad spoke to me I definitely won’t be back. UPDATE: Responding to the owner’s points - 1) Fair enough. I did get a tire rotation as well as the oil change, and they do complete a thorough inspection. 2) The leak was from the drain plug gasket installed on my previous oil change at your shop. Not sure why you referred to it in scare quotes in your last sentence, check the digital inspection report you provided last week—it's on there. It was resolved when you replaced the gasket last week. 3) So over a period of 19+ months I used 4 oil change Groupons and two wheel alignment Groupons. On one of my 5 visits I used both an oil change and an alignment voucher because your (far more pleasant) service writer at the time specifically recommended doing so. As further explained below, this was entirely in keeping with the Groupon terms and conditions. 4) Emad cut me off as soon as I said “I have another mechanic…” and didn’t give me a chance to explain that I get second opinions and check prices with him before proceeding. As soon as the words “another mechanic” left my mouth he told me not to come back and continued to berate me. As for “abusing” the discounted service? Come on now. The policy was always clearly stated “Limit 3 per customer. May repurchase every 365 days.” In fact, it *still* states that as of the screenshot I took about 5 minutes ago. In what universe is following the rules you set “abusing” the offer? If you wanted it to be a one-time offer, that’s how you should have set the T&Cs from the beginning. And if Groupon isn’t accurately reflecting your intended terms, then your beef is with them and not the customer. My go-to mechanic is in Springfield. I’d love to have someone closer. I had hoped it could be Foreign Auto Services, and I regret that your hostility has foreclosed that possibility.

We are a full-service auto repair shop in business since 1978 with an outstanding reputation among our clients and community – just check our hundreds of good reviews. We provide a comprehensive assessment, oil change, and tire rotation. This is a detailed service and typically takes 1.5 hours to complete. We have ASE certified Technicians performing the service on your car. If you are looking for a quick lube, there are places for that – but that isn’t our business model. 2. We seriously care about the quality of the work we do and include a new drain plug seal on every oil service. If your car has a leak, please bring it back and we will happily rectify that. 3. From July,12 2022 to February 22, 2024, you have visited us 5 times and used 6 Groupon’s, not 3 4. When Emad asked of you have any questions about the recommended work or the estimate, you replied “No thanks, I have another shop I take my car to for these things” – That is quite different from saying “I’d like to double-check diagnosis and prices with a second shop before proceeding with any services” Your response tells us that you are only here to take advantage of the discounted service and there’s no way for us to earn your business and make you our customer. 5. Our limit was 3 per person, but we have since revised that to 1 per person - due to the abuse of the discounted services by people like yourself who only want the discounted service and declined everything we recommend.
